FREE SMOKE DETECTORS

Members of Brookline Fire Company accepted 100 smoke detectors from 6 ABC’s Operation Save a Life on January 4, 2007. The free detectors were sponsored by Kidde, Toyota, Independence Blue Cross and Geico.

6ABC’s Karen Rogers and Cecily Tynan presented the detectors at the Philadelphia Fire Academy to Chief Engineer Dave Donnelly and Engineer Tony Corbino.

Brookline Fire Company will install the smoke detectors free of charge to our residents. We also offer free batteries for your existing smoke detectors through Energizer Battery’s Change your clock, change your battery program.

BROOKLINE'S ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Date: 3/25/07 A BIG invite is extended to all to come and join us at our Annual Pancake Breakfast, to be held on Sunday March 25th from 8am - 1pm. Come and enjoy all you can eat Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Coffee, & Juice. This is one of our biggest fund raisers of the year, and is always a very popular gathering of families & friends. So please tell your friends and join us for Breakfast !!!

VEHICLE ON FIRE INSIDE GARAGE
Date: 1/24/07 At 1550 hours, Company 3, (Brookline) Engine 2, (Llanerch) Rescue 5, (Manoa) Got the dispatch for 238 Sagamore Rd for a vehicle fire inside the garage. Brookline was already on the street handleing a fuel spill, and got a quick response. HTPD arrived along with Brookline 5 (Chief Viola), and reported an engine compartment well off inside the garage. Ladder 3, under the direction of Brookline 5, stretched 2 2" lines and got the quick knock to keep the fire from spreading to the building. Crews from Llanerch & Manoa assisted in some light overhaul, & removal of the vehicle from the garage. Crews cleared the scene in just over 1 1/2 hrs.

Date: 1/1/07 The members of Brookline would like to send along our Best Wishes and Thanks to our friends down the street at Station #2 (Llanerch), as a new era has started. After 10 years as Chief, William "Biggs" Baker has stepped down in the ranks and passed the torch to the new Chief John Roberts. We are looking forward to the future with Chief Roberts, and thankful for the past with Biggs. While on the subject we also send along our best wishes to the Crew of Llanerch on the purchase of your new KME Pumper (Engine 22). Best of Luck, May it Serve you Well.
